ARE YOU MOVING HOUSE? Well, you might be in need of this #MOVINGCHECKLIST!
Many people are moving house and it is often an experience with mixed emotions – excitement for new beginnings, maybe a bit of stress possibly exhaustion and everything in between!
A #movingchecklist is a MUST! For those of you who aren’t comfortable just winging it, anyway.
Here are seven checkboxes that sit at the top of my moving list:
ANNUAL LEAVE – Apply for that leave as soon as you know the dates!
PROFESSIONAL MOVERS - Book and pay for the pros – save yourself an extra visit to the physio for that new back ache.
PROFESSIONAL CLEANERS - Book and pay to save time and stress. Settle into your new abode knowing the place is spick and span in your wake.
SITTERS FOR ALL BABIES (be they fur and/or human) - Book the sitter so you can move with efficiency without the fear of losing Fluffy or forgetting Timmy’s lunch.
PACKING BOXES - Stockpile boxes - from the grocer or supermarket the weeks leading up to your move. You’d be surprised where you can find some free goodies if you aren’t afraid to ask!
LABELLING SYSTEM - Pack and label boxes by category contents and room (a colourful sticky note system works wonders). Organisation is key to ensuring you’re able to make yourself a cuppa at the end of moving day ☕️ #prioritiesamiright
REDIRECT MAIL - to your new address (online via NZ Post’s website). It’s such a simple step that you’ll pat yourself on the back for later!
What checkboxes make the top of your list? What have you learned after you have moved, that you wish you knew before? Let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!
