Not Happy with your Valuation Report?

Did you have someone value your property and you're not quite satisfied with the results? Do the numbers not add up exactly as you'd like? Here's a few pointers as to how you could resolve this issue!

  1. Read it more than once – Read the report again carefully to see if you understand it better.

  2. Take notes – Highlight points you do not understand, have questions about or disagree with

  3. Process it – Take some time to process and reflect on the contents of the report and your notes.

  4. Make contact

If you still aren't happy with the outcome:

  1. Email the Valuer with your concerns – This is my preferred option as it clearly sets out the customers concerns and helps the Valuer understand how to address these. If the matter is urgent, you may need to highlight when you require a response by.

  2. Call the Valuer and ask if they have the time to go through the valuation. If they are busy ask if they can call you back or book a time to discuss the valuation. They may request you email them about the issues you have with the report so they can be prepared to quickly address your concerns.

  3. Book a face-to-face meeting – in person or on zoom. Most experts agree that 70- 93% of all communication is nonverbal. Therefore, an in-person meeting may be more effective when discussing your valuation.
